Watch: MS Dhoni puts a full-stretched dive against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021

The reverberant Chennai Super Kings crossed swords with Rajasthan Royals in the 12th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The match took place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and invited the yellow army to open the face of the blade.

Faf du Plessis who suffered the wrath of the netizens for his poor strike rate in the previous match against Delhi Capitals looked like a different player altogether in today's match against the Royals. The former Proteas captain was at his fluent best with the bat as he chipped in with 33 off 17 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes at a phenomenal strike rate of 194.12.

Faf du Plessis was en route to scoring a good fifty but was dismissed by Chris Morris in the 6th over. Faf du Plessis might not have converted his innings into a big knock but he made sure that he provided a good start to the game. Ambati Rayudu looked pretty decent for his 27 off 17 balls including 3 maximums at a strike rate of 158.82.

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni came under fire for his lack of fitness in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League at the United Arab Emirates. Dhoni found it really hard to run between the wickets and his tiredness was there was everyone to see in the season.

As if that's not enough, he failed to score even a single half-century throughout the season for the first time in his IPL career. He didn't strike the balls quite cleanly and maintained a poor strike rate of around 116, which is really below average considering a player of his caliber.

MS Dhoni continued his bad patch with the bat even in the ongoing season of the IPL. Having played 3 games so far, he managed to score just 18 runs to his name. However, the cricket fraternity saw the CSK captain put a full-stretched dive just soon after facing a couple of balls.

Soon after facing a couple of balls, Dhoni hit the ball to take a single off Rahul Tewatia's bowling. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja realized that taking a run could have turned into a mess and he immediately sent him back. MS Dhoni puts a timely full-stretched dive to reach the crease.
